METHOD AND DEVICE FOR WRITING SERVO PATTERN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately specify an innermost servo track position or an outermost servo track position on a data recording disk. SOLUTION: A servo pattern is written in the data recording disk from a 1st servo track position by halting a read/write head at an outside disk position on a load/unload member, moving the read/write head from the outside disk position toward the center of the data recording disk along the radial direction of the data recording disk, to monitor the current flowing between one terminal and the other terminal, detecting turn-off of the current to halt the movement of the read/write head, and specifying the halted position as the 1st servo track position.
