PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video camera capable of preventing upsizing of the device and increasing a cost. SOLUTION: It is only way to increase a thickness of a wavelength plate in order to increase an effect for suppressing a coloring of a reflection light which causes an upsizing of the whole device and an increasing cost. It is possible that linearly polarized light is converted to circularly polarized light with less wavelength dependency and to substantially suppress the coloring in the reflection light by making the thickness of the wavelength plate 11 arranged at the previous stage of image pickup means (prism 12, spectral film 13, CCD 14) 15±5μm. Further, as it is not necessary to make the thickness of the wavelength plate 11 thicker, it is possible to prevent the upsizing of the device and the increasing cost.
