PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat nonaqueous secondary battery of a capacity 30 Wh or larger and high voluminal energy density 180 Wh/l or higher, with its thickness less than 12 mm, which is of high capacity and excellent in cycle life and safety. SOLUTION: Related to the nonaqueous secondary battery, a positive electrode comprises, as a positive electrode active material, a mixture of a lithium manganese composite oxide represented by a composition formula Lix Mn2-y May O4+z and lithium nickel composite oxide represented by a composition formula Lia Nib MBc O2 . A negative electrode comprises, a negative electrode active material, a mixture of a double structure graphite particle in which the surface of graphite particle whose plane interval (d002) of (002) plane is 0.34 nm or less at X-ray wide-angle diffraction method is coated with an amorphous carbon layer exceeding plane interval 0.34 nm, and graphitized mesocarbon micro beads.
