PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method for a mobile terminal that attains transmission reception between a base station and the mobile terminal resident at the outside of its area and to provide the mobile terminal. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal 30 is resident at the outside of an area 10 where the speech quality of the base station 1 is warranted. When the mobile terminal 30 makes communication with the base station 1, first the mobile terminal transmits a relay request signal. A mobile terminal 20 in the communication area 10 of the base station 1 receives the relay request signal and transmits a relay permission signal. The mobile terminal 30 receives the relay permission signal and transmits transmission data. The transmission data are sent to the base station 1 through the mobile terminal 20. Furthermore, the data from the base station 1 are sent to the mobile terminal 30 through the mobile terminal 20. Thus, the mobile terminal 30 can make communication with the base station 1 although the mobile terminal 30 is resident at the outside of the communication area of the base station 1.
