PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of guiding a finger print impressing position for reducing the repetition of input errors and provide a finger print certifying system applying the method. SOLUTION: When 'there is no relevant person available' is determined as a result of the finger print certification, the displacement of a position coordinate of a finger placed on a finger print input sensor 41, from the central part of the sensor is calculated, and the proper guide information is outputted to a transmitting means 42. As a result, a person to be certified can explicitly capture the 'input error', and can place the finger on the more proper finger print impressing position, when the finger is placed on the finger print input sensor 41 again. As the transmission means, for example, an LED indicator and a loudspeaker can be cited.
