PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain telephone functions of a portable telephone, having functions other than those of the telephone, such as headphone stereo to maximal level to improve its convenience, while reducing current consumption. SOLUTION: Upon execution of a headphone stereo function, a main controller 20 prompts a user to drive an LCD 25 for setting the receiving interval. The user operates a key input unit 26 to set the receiving interval of a paging channel for a 'double mode', and this actuating a PCH receiving interval controller 20a to change the PCH receiving interval. In response to the reduction of the remaining battery power to a level below a specified value Vw, an alarm output controller 20c controls a ringer-alarm output unit 27. |
