PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component wherein a sealing body is excellent in airtightness, little electrolyte for driving is emitted, and reliability is enhanced. SOLUTION: The electronic component is provided with a metal case 2 for housing a capacitor element 1 impregnated with an electrolyte for driving and the sealing body 3 for sealing the opening of the metal case 2. The sealing body 3 is formed by mixing an additive containing phenols and derivatives thereof and a silane additive in butyl rubber as a main ingredient and cross- linking the mixture. Thus the reliable electronic component excellent in the hermeticity of the sealing body 3 is obtained.
