Mineral agglomerating and compacting process, where by moisture is added to the mineral fines prior to their mixing with the coarser fraction. The moisture is preferentially added during the milling stage before the "flour" is produced, and the resultant paste may be pumped through a filter to reduce the moisture content sufficiently so that on admixing with the coarser particles an optimum pellet density results. This method makes greater use of the finer fraction of minerals and also can result in the compressive and abrasive strengths of pellets (fired) being double that normally obtainable.
|
