PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve assembling workability and provide excellent muffling performance in a steering lock device for a vehicle supporting a lock pin and a slider connected to the lock pin operatably on a fixed housing and providing a power conversion means for converting a rotary motion into a linear motion between an electric motor fixed and supported by the housing and the slider. SOLUTION: A case 30 constituted of a pair of case members 28 and 29 coupled each other is stored within the housing 13. The electric motor 18 and the power conversion means 19 are stored within the case 30 so that the electric motor 18 may be fixed and supported by at least one of both of the case members 28 and 29 and components of the power conversion means 19 may be operably supported by at least one of both of the case members 28 and 29. At least one of both of the case members 28 and 29 is provided with a connecting hole capable of connecting the slider 17 with the power conversion means 19.
