GUIDE PIN AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flanged guide pin having superior accuracy of an outer diameter for positioning of butted connection of an optical connector. SOLUTION: Upon manufacturing the guide pin 1 in which a flanged member 31 is inserted in a groove 21 for fixing of a bar-shaped guide pin main body 2 having the groove 21 for fixing in a peripheral direction, the jaw-shaped flange member 31 is arranged in the periphery of the groove 21 for fixing, and the flange member 31 is compressed and deformed by pressing the flange member 31 through both side against an axial direction. Thus, the inner surface side of the flange member 31 is bulged into an inward side so as to provide a projecting portion 311 in the groove 21 for fixing.
