PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical member as a plastic lens to be used in the nearest side to the object in imaging lenses and having a coating film which is more hardly damaged on the surface in the object side of the lens. SOLUTION: The optical member is a plastic lens to be used in the nearest side to the object of imaging lenses and has a coating film on the surface in the object side of the plastic lens. When a blade probe made of tungsten carbide having 0.4 mm radius of its top of the blade is pressed to the coating film and moved in the horizontal direction at 0.1 mm/sec velocity while continuously increasing the vertical load on the coating film, the vertical load (g) at the time when the coating film starts to be scraped is measured as the scratch hardness W.
