PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and device capable of stably outputting an image of high image quality on an inexpensive paper having a rough surface over a long period in accordance with a pressure-transfer system image formation. SOLUTION: In the case of forming a toner image by developing by liquid developer containing toner particles and carrier liquid, and then, press- transferring the toner image to a recording medium, the temperature of the toner image is controlled so that the complex viscosity coefficient η of the toner image may satisfy an expression: 1×10<4> <η<1×10<6> . Besides, the recording medium in press-contact with the toner image on the image holding body, is separated from the holding body after the contact state of the recording medium with the toner image on the holding body is maintained for a prescribed time. |
