PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packer which facilitates setting thereof, can be manufactured at low cost, and dispenses with a special jig for setting the same. SOLUTION: The packer 1 is mounted on a tube body arranged in a long hole drilled in the natural ground, and comprises a porous cylindrical main body 2 obtained by boring a number of through holes in a peripheral wall thereof, a caulking compound injecting tube 3 spirally wound about a peripheral portion of the porous cylindrical main body 2, a number of caulking compound injecting holes 3a bored in the caulking compound injection tube 3, and a caulking compound absorbing material 4 wound about a peripheral portion of the caulking compound injecting tube 3.
