PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for photosubstitution reaction of an organic compound by which application to a wide range of kinds of reactional substrates can be made in stage-reaction and a substitution-reaction organic compound such as the objective cyano-substituted compound, etc. is simply synthesized in a high reactional yield in a short time. SOLUTION: This method for the photosubstitution reaction of the organic compound comprises making an organic compound to be substituted present in an oily phase and a nucleophilic substitution reactant present in an aqueous phase, carrying out substitution reaction of the organic compound to be substituted with the nucleophilic substitution reactant under irradiation of light and separating and recovering the produced substituted organic compound from the oily phase in a heterogeneous-phase solvent system formed from the incompatible oily phase and aqueous phase.
