PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for a diesel particulate filter device capable of preventing the occurrence of abnormal combustion of a PM remaining in a filter even when regeneration treatment is interrupted during the regeneration of the filter in the diesel particulate filter device so as to prevent damage due to burning and melting of the filter. SOLUTION: When the regeneration operation of the filter 12 is interrupted in the diesel particulate filter device 10 provided with a selector valve 15 for switching a filter 12 side passage for catching the PM and a bypass passage 16, heating of the filter 12 is stopped and the selector valve 15 is held while the filter side is closed until a predetermined determination time elapses from the interruption of the regeneration or an exhaust gas condition reaches a predetermined abnormal combustion avoid condition.
