METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING VALVE SPRING RETAINER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for assembling a valve spring retainer to stabilize an engaging position of a cotter with an engaging groove and not to change the engaging position of the cotter with the engaging groove with the lapse of time. SOLUTION: (1) In the method for assembling the valve spring retainer wherein the valve spring retainer 15 is assembled in a valve stem of an engine valve 11 through the cotter 14, the tip part of the valve stem 12 is inserted in the valve spring retainer 15 in which the cotter 14 is built. After the cotter 14 is engaged with an engaging groove 13 of the valve stem 12, a tensile load is applied on the valve spring retainer 15 while the valve stem 12 held in. (2) The engine valve 11 is solenoid drive valve to be opened and closed by a valve stem cooperation of a spring force developed by a valve spring and an electromagnetic force developed by an electromagnet.
