PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the coupling of vibrations in a vibrationproof device which uses a viscoelastic body. SOLUTION: The vibrationproof device comprises a fixing member, movable member to be movable relative to said fixing member, and a viscoelastic body which is interposed between the fixing and movable members to attenuate the motion of the movable member. The viscoelastic body is arranged being compressed beforehand in the direction perpendicular to the direction of shearing force.
