PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flushing method and flushing tank for an electrodeposition coating material which are capable of eliminating the fluctuation in the water feed volume of flushing water due to clogging of a filter and are capable of obtaining a high-quality coating film by flushing the electrodeposition material by the stable volume of water. SOLUTION: In this flushing method for the electrodeposition coating material, the circulation flushing by clean water is performed by using the flushing tank of a hopper type when the electrodeposition coating material subjected to electrodeposition coating is flushed and sending the cleaning water withdrawn from the upper part of the flushing tank to a flushing chamber to flush the electrodeposition coating material and returning the water after the flushing from the bottom of the flushing chamber to the middle part or the lower part of the flushing tank, and the cleaning of the flushing water in the flushing tank is performed by a circulation circuit of introducing the flushing water withdrawn from the lowermost part of the blushing tank to a filtration equipment and returning the flushing water to the middle part or lower part of the flushing tank after the filtration.
