PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium housing case in which operability for opening its lid body is made satisfactory. SOLUTION: For the recording medium housing case 1 comprising a case main body 2 for putting and housing a recording medium therein and a lid body 3 for closing the main body 2 in a way of opening and closing, notches 10, 10 are provided at edges at one side of the lid body 3 so that the upside at the end of the main body 2 can be exposed at positions corresponding to the aforementioned edges of the lid body, and notches 7, 7 are also provided at the edges of the main body 2 on the sides corresponding to the other sides of the lid body 3 so that the underside of the said other sides of the lid body 3 can be exposed.
