<p>A server duplexing method and a duplexed server system for transferring a service being executed seamlessly when a trouble occurs. The system comprises first and second servers connected with a network and having a common network address, communication means for high-speed communication between the two servers, a main server for communicating with the two servers to cause the first server to operate externally in normal operation, and switching control means for setting the second server as a secondary server. The first server passes a service request to the system, when received, to an application so that the request may be dealt with. As a result, recovery data outputted by the application is transmitted to the second server by the communication means. When a processing related to the service request is accompanied by update of the data held by the server system, the second server executes the application by using the recovery data transmitted from the first server, so that the respective data held by the two servers are kept identical at all times. The service request and the result of the processing are duplexed and stored in the stacks of the two servers.</p> |
