PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF ALKENYL ACETATES

Alkenes having 4-12C atoms are reacted in the gas phase at 100-250 degrees C with oxygen and acetic acid using a palladium catalyst, there being from 1-100 moles water per moles of acetic acid in the final product. Pref. the catalyst calculated as 1-10 g. Pd. also contains 1-100 g. alkali acetate per litre.
