PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a residual toner amount detecting device whose detecting accuracy is stable and whose manufacture cost is reduced, and an image forming apparatus using the same. SOLUTION: This residual toner amount detecting device for detecting residual toner amount in a container 1 in which toner 6 is stored by using light is provided with a bar-like light guiding member installed in the container 1 and guiding the light. Then, the bar-like light guiding member is divided to a light emitting side bar-like light guiding member 9 and a light receiving side bar-like light guiding member 10, and at least one of the bar-like light guiding member is bent only once so that the ends of the bar-like light guiding members may be opposed to each other. |
