PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturizable paper feeding device having excellent assembling workability and capable of adjusting the pressing force against paper sheets, and to provide an image forming device using the same. SOLUTION: This paper feeding device to be installed in a printer to supply the paper sheets loaded on a paper sheets tray 10 to the printer through a paper feeding roller 8 is provided with a coil spring 20 for pushing the paper sheets tray 10 to the paper feeding roller 8 and a torsion spring 21 capable of pushing the paper sheets tray 10 toward a paper feeding roller 8 side. The torsion spring 20 is interlocked with a switching member 26 for switching application and release of the pushing force to the paper sheets tray 10.
