PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a saber saw which can perform orbital cut regardless of the mounting direction of a blade 27. SOLUTION: Two different eccentric cylinder shaft parts 9b, 9c are provided in a second shaft 9, a contact plate 22 having two different contact surfaces coming into contact with these different eccentric cylinder shaft parts 9b, 9c, respectively, is provided, so as to make reciprocating motion and right angle directional motion of a plunger 20, that is, so as to make a blade 27 perform swivel motion, the blade 27 makes the swivel motion by a different locus corresponding to a phase angle of the eccentric cylinder shaft parts 9b, 9c of the second shaft 9, so that efficient orbital cutting action corresponding to the mounting direction of the blade 27 can be given.
