An aircraft escalator (1) for transporting passengers into and from the airplane is a novelty compared to conventional staircases which are both time consuming and require a lot of effort for the elderly, particularly for the handicapped, especially during bad weather conditions. The use of contemporary conventional staircases is counterproductive and dangerous as each type of the aircraft requires a particular set of staircases. In case of several similar type aircraft landing at approximately the same time, lack of availability of similar types of staircase causes delays, unnecessary crowding and causes irritation with passengers. These shortcomings and obstacles of contemporary staircases are alleviated by this invention as well as a need for increased number of conventional staircases of various heights, personnel and vehicles for towing of conventional staircases. The mobile escalator and/or conveyor belt may also serve as efficient aid for rescuing people from buildings, hospitals etc. They are suitable for the transport of people seated in wheelchairs or even lying in beds equipped with medical apparatuses, so as to guarantee their survival. |
