PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture sliding members having a proper clearance assuring good productivity without applying any additional machining process. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method is for sliding members having a minute clearance between two sliding members, whereby a first sliding member 1 and a second sliding member 2 are formed having a clearance C1 a little greater than the proper sliding clearance C3, and then the differenceΔC between C3 and C1 as actual is measured, and a hard film 5 having a thickness the same as or similar toΔC is formed on the sliding parts 1a and 3a of the first sliding member 1 and/or the second sliding member 2.
