PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save labor by automatically performing cleaning and rust- preventing works of a chock, a bearing, or the like, as works, and to improve the efficiency of the cleaning and rust-preventing works. SOLUTION: A cleaning and rust-preventing device comprises a cleaning tank 7 for cleaning the works, an elevating/lowering machine 11 for pulling up the works after immersing and oscillating the works in the cleaning tank 7, a shower 13 for spraying and cleaning the pulled-up works, a rust-preventing tank 15 which is adjacent to the cleaning tank 7 to clean and rust-prevent the sprayed and cleaned works, an elevating/lowering machine 19 for pulling up the works after the works are immersed and oscillated in the rust-preventing tank 15, a cleaning conveyor 9 and a rust-preventing conveyor 17 both striding over respective tanks, and a basket for storing the works which travels on each conveyor. The cleaning conveyor 9 is elevated/lowered in the cleaning tank 7 by the elevating/lowering machine 11 when the basket is moved above the cleaning tank 7, and the rust-preventing conveyor 17 is elevated/lowered in the rust-preventing tank 15 by the elevating/lowering machine 19 when the basket travels above the rust-preventing tank 15.
