A bedding or seating product (10) comprising a spring assembly (12) made of a plurality of strings of springs (18) connected to each other. Each string of springs (18) comprises a plurality of individually pocketed coil springs. Within each pocket is a coil spring (20) and at least one cushioning pad (40) secured to the coil spring. In one embodiment, one cushioning pad (40) is secured to the upper end turn of the coil spring. In an alternative embodiment, cushioning pads (40, 42) are secured to the upper and lower end turns (34, 36) of the coil spring (20).
