PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of hazard caused by high pressure generated by thermal expansion of air in a hollow part when a support roll for galvanizing treatment of a steel sheet, being made hollow structure so as to lighten it, is immersed in a hot bath of molten zinc. SOLUTION: The inside of the support roll 18 to be immersed in the hot bath of molten zinc is made hollow structure and the support roll 18 is provided so as to be able to keep the hollow part 26 at a reduced pressure of <=1 atom in such a state that the hollow part 26 is immersed in the bath of the molten zinc.
