A lens support structure according to the present invention comprises a tubular holding frame 4 formed with a flat holding surface 5a orthogonal to a center axis thereof, and a lens 2 held within the holding frame 4 such that a planar part 2a orthogonal to the optical axis O1 of an optically functioning surface 2b abuts against the holding surface 5a. Since the planar part 2a of the lens 2 abuts against the flat holding surface 5a, the lens 2 can be moved in directions orthogonal to the optical axis O, so as to enable optical axis adjustment.
