<p>The invention relates to an electronic ballot-box of the type used in referenda to scan votes as they are placed inside the ballot-box, despite said votes being enclosed in an envelope, using the emission of a light and with the purpose of guaranteeing the confidentiality of the vote. The inventive ballot-box can also be used to accumulate the votes for each of the candidates and to configure the characteristics of the electoral process (voters, geographical area, candidatures, etc.) and the characteristics specific to the piece of equipment. Moreover, said ballot-box comprises a PCMCIA card which stores the electoral database. The machine can operate in vote or administration mode, thereby providing complete control over the operation of the piece of equipment.</p> |
