PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of surely preventing the leakage of developer even in the case of high speed printing or even in the case of long-term endurable service, an image forming apparatus equipped with such a developing device and further the assembly method of such a developing device. SOLUTION: A side seal 51 for preventing toner from being leaked from both ends in the axial direction of a developing roller 31 is constituted of an inner member 73 in which an inner sliding surface 71 is formed and an outer member 74 in which an outer sliding surface 72 is formed by leaving specified space on the outside of the axial direction of the roller 31 of the member 73. Thus, even when the toner is leaked to the outside of the surface 71, it is enclosed between the roller 31 and the surface 72 and the leakage of the toner is surely prevented in the case of the endurable service. |
