PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cost effective dip flushing tank for flushing and cleaning electrodeposition coating materials which makes it possible to obtains coating film surfaces of high quality by substantially preventing deposition of foreign matter in a flushing tank on the electrodeposition coating materials and does not require labor by merely necessitating rapid exchange of a portion of flushing water even when the foreign matter in the flushing tank increases, and a flushing method for the electrodeposition coating materials. SOLUTION: The method for flushing the electrodeposition coating materials which places the plural electrodeposition coating materials subjected to electrodeposition coating on a carrier, continuously puts the carrier into the dip flushing tank, puts the electrodeposition coating materials out of the tank after flushing and cleaning comprises cleaning the electrodeposition coating materials while passing the electrodeposition coating materials put into the dip flushing tank having a rectangular boat shape through the inside of the upper layer water of a low foreign matter concentration in the flushing water stored within the dip flushing tank, putting the electrodeposition coating materials out of the tank, settling the foreign matter flushed away from the electrodeposition coating materials within plural hoppers formed at the bottom of the flushing tank and discharging the same from the discharge port of the front ends of the hoppers.
