PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine-kneaded solid detergent composition that lefts no stretched feeling on the skin after use, and is improved in foaming and swelling properties and self-dissolving loss. SOLUTION: The machine-kneaded detergent composition characteristically comprises an alkali metal N-methyl taurate of fatty acid represented by the following formula: R-COO<-> H2 N<+> (CH3 )-CH2 -CH2 -SO3 <-> X<+> (I) (wherein R is a 7-23C saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group; X is an alkali metal), sodium salt of fatty acid and cured polyoxyethylene castor oil.
