PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of a state in which stamping cannot be done even if an ink is retained in a stamp material. SOLUTION: A stamp unit comprises a holder 4 vertically slidable along the inner surface of a guide member 2 to hold the stamp material 3 on a lower surface. The stamp unit further comprises a pad 63 disposed on the upper surface of a cap 60 detachably mounted on the lower surface of the member 2 to impregnate a solvent capable of dissolving the ink impregnated into the material 3. When a grip 5 is pressed, the material 3 is contacted with the pad 63 to dissolve the dried ink.
