PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device equipped with a sealing member hardly causing damage such as the fall-off of bristles, and excellently preventing the leakage of developer even at the endurable service time, and further capable of securing excellent sealing ability even in the case of operating a moving member at high speed, and an image forming apparatus equipped with the developing device. SOLUTION: The felt sealing member 66 of a side seal 51 for preventing toner from being leaked from both ends in the axial direction of a developing roller 31 is constituted of felt consisting of a polyester fiber member. By using such a fiber member, the damage such as the fall-off of the bristles is hardly caused and the leakage of the toner is excellently prevented even at the endurable service time, and the excellent sealing ability is secured even in the case of rotating the roller 31 at high speed at the endurable service time. |
