PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely hold a fine scanning speed of a photographic film in a film conveyance path at a target value even if the tension of the photographic film wound around a spool shaft varies during the fine scanning. SOLUTION: Before the fine scanning is started, a CPU 342 sets reference pulse rate of respective image frames of the photographic film up to the 3rd frame from the final frame in a conveyance control circuit 350 respectively. The conveyance control circuit 350 outputs driving pulses to a feed motor 210 at the set reference pulse rate and conveys the photographic film in the rewinding direction. At this time, the CPU 342 measures the conveyance speed of the photographic film, corrects the reference pulses according to the measured value, and stores the corrected reference pulse rate in a constant storage part 351. The conveyance control part 350 outputs the driving pulses to the feed motor 210 at the reference pulse rate stored in the constant storage part 351.
