PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of a belt by avoiding an increase in the local contact pressure at a ring side of the contact part between a saddle face corresponding to the shoulder part of a body part and the ring side which functions as a belt main body. SOLUTION: A 1st element 3 is provided with a clearance groove 13 at a corner part formed with a neck part 8 and saddle face 10 digging into the neck part side. Likewise, a 2nd element 4 is provided with a clearance groove 15 at the same corner part digging into the saddle face 10 side, not the neck part 8 side. The belt 1 used for a continuously variable transmission is constituted of the 1st elements 3 and the 2nd elements 4 combined with common rings 2 so as to be regularly mixed with each other.
