PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a web meandering correction device for correcting the meandering of a web unwound from a web unwinding device. SOLUTION: The web meandering correction device comprises a web edge position detecting sensor, a web unwinding device or a web meandering correction roller, a driving device for moving the web unwinding device or the web meandering correction roller, and a control part for receiving a detection result of the web edge position detecting sensor and transmitting a signal to the driving device. In a controlling method of the web meandering correction device, a moving amount of the web unwinding device or the web meandering correction roller for correcting a displacement amount in the width direction of the web is set smaller than the displacement amount, and a transmission period of a signal from the control part to the driving device is not lower than a moving time of the web between the web unwinding device or the web meandering correction roller and the web edge position detecting sensor.
