PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation of the function of separation claws by preventing toner from reaching to the claws even when a toner image, such as a pattern that prevents the cleaning blade from being wrapped, is formed on an image non-formation area of a photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The device has a latent image forming means for forming an electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor drum 214 based upon image data. The device also has a latent image application means for applying a latent image to the image non-formation area on the photoreceptor drum 214. The latent image is used as, for example, a pattern that prevents the cleaning blade 239 from being wrapped. The device further has a developing means for developing the electrostatic latent image and the latent image by use of toner. The latent image application means has a latent image inhibition area where the latent image cannot be applied, for example, an area corresponding to each separation claw 231 in the image non-formation area on the photoreceptor drum 214. |
