PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for enhancing potassium ion absorption by plants and a method for enhancing potassium ion absorption by plants using it. SOLUTION: An agent enhancing potassium ion absorption by plants containing benzoic acid and/or a derivative(s) of benzoic acid as an effective component, and an agent for enhancing potassium ion absorption by plants which is in liquid form and contains benzoic acid and/or a benzoate or benzoic acid ester, as its derivative, in the concentration of 0.001-1μM to the total volume.
