PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a light beam direction regulation method which is capable of easily and surely regulating the direction of a light beam. SOLUTION: The method of regulating the direction of the light beam radiated from a light source element 1 having a very small light emitting section, in which the light source element 1 is fixedly held by holding means 3B at least partly having a spherical surface 3B11 and the spherical surface 3B11 is engaged with a receiving member 4B having a circular engaging edge 4B11 engaged with the spherical surface 3B11 of the holding means 3B and the direction of the radiation light beam is regulated by rotating the holding means 3B while maintaining this engaging relation.
