PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for press-fitting/extracting a pile which facilitates maintenance for dealing with abrasion thereof. SOLUTION: The pile press-fitting/extracting machine 1 has a sliding portion of a mast 41 (liner 47 for the mast) installed replaceably, and the sliding portion functions as a sliding protective member. Therefore, when the sliding portion of the mast 41 is worn, only replacement thereof is sufficient, which dispenses with working and repair of the pile press-fitting/extracting machine 1, and the sliding portion can be easily replaced. Further, since the working and repair of the machine are dispensed with, factory facilities in which machine tools for carrying out the working and repair are provided are dispensed with. Therefore, a period required for the working and repair of the sliding portion of the mast 41 is shortened, which leads to shortening of a construction period, to thereby reduce construction costs.
