PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the suction of air into the suction side of an oil pump. SOLUTION: The oil pump OP having a pump casing 73 wholly split in the axial direction comprises a cover 80 for surrounding the whole pump casing 73 at its outside to section an oil reservoir 81 in a space to the pump casing 73. An oil (an arrowmark B) leaking from a discharge port 78 through a split junction is reserved in the oil reservoir 81 for permitting the suction of the oil into a suction port 77 (an arrowmark A) under a negative pressure and preventing the suction of air into the suction port 77.
