PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-circular machining method capable of machining with a regular polygonal section without impairing advantages of rotational motion. SOLUTION: This machining method for making a hole H having a regular N-cornered shape with the N-number of apex angles, uses a machining means T formed in a regular (N-1)-cornered shape inscribed to a regular N-cornered shape to be machined. The machining means T rotates with a designated rotational frequency along a orbital circle R with a designated radius round the center O of machining, and rotates on its axis at a designated speed round the center G of the machining means to perform machining. As the machining means T for the regular (N-1)-cornered machining means T, a blade-like machining bit or jet is used. It is possible to use the machining means T of the regular (N+1)-cornered shape.
