PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly active antibacterial agent composition and a method for endowing resinous-, paper-, and fibrous-products with such antibacteri al effect thereto using the antibacterial agent composition. SOLUTION: The antibacterial agent composition is characterized by containing (1) a compound represented as 5-ethyl 5, 8-dihydro-8-oxo-[1, 3] dioxolo [4, 5-g] quinoline-7-carboxylic acid or salts thereof, and (2) zinc oxide. The method for endowing antibacterial effect to resinous products, paper products, and fibrous products by using the antibacterial agent composition, and also the resinous products, paper products, and fibrous products treated with the antibacterial agent composition are provided.
