Contactless smart cards by a wide range of manufacturers which can be co-ordinated to form a card group with comparable technical properties can be used on a wide range of terminals. The invention relates to the manner in which terminals can carry out the functions thereof for said smart cards during economy operation with a low level of electromagnetic radiation, and during normal operation.
