PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate adjustment of a residence time of powder and grain in a powder and grain drying device. SOLUTION: A paddle 5 is provided with a plurality of paddle arms 51 radially protruded at given intervals or proper intervals throughout an axial direction at a given angle (approximately 10-180 deg.) with a rotary shaft 6. An agitating blade 52 in various shapes, such as T-shape, is attached inclined at a proper angle with a vertical surface to the tip of the paddle arm 51, and constituted in a manner to stir up powder and grain. The rotary shaft 6 is horizontally extended through the internal part of a drying chamber 3 and rotatably supported by bearing units 61 and 62 attached to the end parts on both sides of an outer container 41. When the paddle 5 is normally or reversely rotated, the powder and grain is fed through normal rotation, and when it is reversely rotated, a force not to feed the powder and grain in worked. Then, a residence time of the powder and grain in a drying chamber 3 can be adjusted, and a processing for a batch ending is also simplified.
