PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel constituted so that a cam ring is prevented from being deformed by external force even when the external force is exerted on a lens frame ring forming the outer peripheral surface of the lens barrel. SOLUTION: This lens barrel is equipped with the lens frame ring supporting a lens so as to move to straight advance in an optical axis direction by regulating rotation on the outer periphery side of the cam ring; and a cam mechanism for a lens frame ring having a cam groove for a lens frame ring formed on the outer peripheral surface of the cam ring and a follower pin provided on the lens frame ring fit in the cam groove for the lens frame ring and moving the lens frame ring in the optical axis direction by the rotation of the cam ring. The cam groove for a lens group and the cam groove for a lens frame ring are formed to have nearly the same shape whose position in the optical axis direction is made different in an area where a moving lens group frame is advanced and retreated in the optical axis direction, and the follower pin of the moving lens group frame and the follower pin of the lens frame ring are positioned nearly on the same axial line in a direction parallel with an optical axis.
