PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a displacement sensor that is inexpensive and requires only a small installation space, and is also reasonable in cost and function for user's usage purpose. SOLUTION: This displacement sensor 1 is comprised of a detecter 2 that projects a light to an object 80, receives a reflection light therefrom and generates a detection signal (i) corresponding to a distance to the object 80 and a signal processor 3 that inputs the detection signal (i) therefrom for processing, and calculates the distance D between the sensor 1 and object 80. The signal processor 3 fetches a calculated data (d) on distance from another displacement sensor, and computes the step or thickness or the like on the basis of the fetched calculated data (d) of distance and its own calculated data of distance and outputs the obtained result.
